Israeli football is facing increasing pressure and backlash as a result of the conflict in Gaza. According to the Palestinian Football Association (PFA), Israeli forces have killed 774 Palestinian athletes and officials, including the notable footballer Suleiman al-Obeid. The PFA also reports that nearly 300 sports facilities in Gaza and the occupied West Bank have been destroyed. The chairman of the PFA, Jibril Rajoub, has labeled the impact on Palestinian sport as an "unprecedented catastrophe."
