Israeli author David Grossman brands Gaza war a 'genocide'

Israeli writer David Grossman has proclaimed the assault on the Gaza Strip a "genocide." In an interview with the Italian daily La Repubblica, Grossman stated that the bloodshed in Gaza broke his heart. He explained that for years he refused to use the term, but now feels compelled to after seeing images and speaking to people who were there. Grossman described "genocide" as an "avalanche word" that grows and brings more destruction and suffering once it is used.
