Israel 'unwilling' to reach ceasefire agreement, Qatar says

Qatar's foreign ministry spokesperson has stated that Israel appears unwilling to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza. Israel has not yet officially responded to a ceasefire proposal that Hamas accepted earlier in the month. The spokesperson, Majed al-Ansari, said Qatar is awaiting an official response and is not taking Israeli media statements seriously. Hamas had previously informed mediators Egypt and Qatar that it accepted the proposal and was ready to resume negotiations.
