Israel shuts down five Palestinian media outlets in Jerusalem

Israel has banned five Palestinian media outlets that cover occupied East Jerusalem, officially branding them as “terrorist organisations.” The decision was reportedly based on claims from the Shin Bet security agency that Hamas was using the outlets as fronts to incite tensions during Ramadan. Commentators and media groups condemned the move as an attempt to suppress documentation of Israeli actions, particularly at Al-Aqsa Mosque, and a violation of press freedom. In response, one of the targeted outlets, Asima Agency, suspended its activities to protect its journalists from Israeli authorities.
