Israel sees Sykes-Picot borders as 'meaningless', US envoy Tom Barrack says

US special envoy Tom Barrack stated that Israel views the historical Sykes-Picot borders as "meaningless" and has the capacity to take over Lebanon and Syria. In a candid interview, Barrack also assessed that Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa will not join the Abraham Accords and that diplomatic ties between Egypt and Israel are deeply strained. Barrack is currently mediating a deal for Hezbollah to surrender its heavy weaponry to the Lebanese Armed Forces. He also described making a personal appeal to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu regarding the situation in Lebanon.
