Israel expels tens of thousands from Gaza City as army readies for major assault

The Israeli army is expelling tens of thousands of Palestinians from Gaza City while preparing for a major assault and occupation. Displacement figures range from 70,000 to 300,000 people, as Israel has bombarded the city, destroying homes and vital infrastructure. Since the assault on the city began, at least 1,890 Palestinians have been killed, with a Palestinian health official describing the situation as a genocide. Despite the offensive, Israel's military Chief of General Staff has reportedly warned that Hamas will not be defeated by the operation. The overall conflict has reportedly killed more than 64,000 Palestinians and leveled most of the enclave.
