Israel discards waste and rubble in Gaza despite risk of environmental crisis

The Israeli army is disposing of construction waste, rubble, and military garbage into the Gaza Strip. According to reports, private Israeli companies are using trucks to dump the debris inside the territory with the army's permission. This is exacerbating an existing environmental crisis, with a UN agency estimating the war has already created 61 million tonnes of debris. Some Israeli soldiers have raised concerns that the practice is disgraceful and that some of the dumped materials could be utilized by Hamas.
