Islamic State calls for attacks on Syrian government

The Islamic State (IS) group has released its first audio message in two years, calling on its followers to attack Syria's government and national army. The group's spokesperson, Abu Huzaifa al-Ansari, declared that overthrowing the new president, Ahmed al-Sharaa, is now their top priority. This shift in focus comes after Syria, under al-Sharaa's leadership, officially joined the US-led global coalition against IS. According to an expert, this signals a new phase for the group, which is now preparing for a renewed campaign centered in Syria and has already claimed responsibility for recent attacks.
