Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has reportedly established contingency plans to ensure the survival of the state in the event of war or his assassination. According to a New York Times report, Khamenei has entrusted top national security official Ali Larijani and a small group of aides to manage the country in such a crisis. The directives include creating four layers of succession for key military and government positions to prevent a power vacuum. These plans were formulated in response to potential attacks from the US or Israel that could eliminate Tehran's top leadership.
