India and UAE agree to deepen nuclear cooperation in mega defence pact

India and the United Arab Emirates have agreed to deepen their defense and trade ties, including a significant deal for India to purchase liquefied natural gas. The comprehensive pact also covers cooperation on nuclear energy, specifically the development and deployment of large nuclear reactors and ensuring nuclear safety. During the meeting, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also discussed regional conflicts in Yemen and Gaza and condemned cross-border terrorism. This agreement occurs amid shifting regional alliances, with a potential defense pact forming between Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan.
