Houthis signal end of attacks on Israel and Red Sea vessels after Gaza ceasefire

Yemen’s Houthis have signaled they will stop attacking Israel and vessels in the Red Sea if the current ceasefire in Gaza holds. In a letter to Hamas, the Houthi military stated it is closely monitoring the situation and will resume military operations if aggression against Gaza restarts. The attacks began in solidarity with Palestinians after the October 7th attacks and expanded from targeting Israeli-linked vessels to include US and western ships. The Houthis, considered part of Iran's "axis of resistance," also reportedly received assistance from Russian military advisors.
