Hamas leader Khaled Meshaal rejects foreign rule in Gaza

Hamas political leader Khaled Meshaal stated that the Palestinian movement will reject any foreign domination of Gaza and will not disarm. Speaking in Doha, he asserted that as long as there is an occupation, resistance is a right and something nations are proud of. His comments address a US-led plan to end the conflict, which includes the disarmament of Hamas and the transfer of governance to a committee of Palestinian technocrats. Meshaal said Palestinians must be governed by Palestinians and rejected any form of foreign mandate or guardianship over the territory.
