Gulf states to activate joint defence mechanism, as Qatar calls for 'concrete' response to Israeli attack

Gulf leaders announced they would convene the Gulf Cooperation Council’s (GCC) joint defence body after an Israeli attack in Doha. The GCC condemned the act as a threat to regional security and stability, agreeing to call a meeting of its Joint Defence Council. This move looks to activate a joint defense mechanism from a 2000 agreement, which states that an attack on one member is an attack on all.
