Genocide behind bars: 32 Palestinians killed in Israeli detention in 2025

Palestinian prisoner rights groups have accused Israel of committing a "systematic genocide" against detainees, with at least 32 recorded prisoner deaths in 2025. A joint annual report states that prisoners have died from severely inhumane policies including torture, starvation, and medical negligence. Since October 2023, at least 100 prisoner deaths have been documented, with Israeli authorities reportedly withholding the bodies of 94 Palestinians. The report also highlights over 21,000 arrests in the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem during the same period, often accompanied by severe beatings and property destruction.
