Forty countries gathered in The Hague to discuss coordinated measures against Israel's expanding settlement activity in the occupied West Bank, which is being described as de facto annexation. Co-chaired by South Africa and Colombia, The Hague Group meeting sought to translate political statements into concrete state action regarding international law in Palestine. The nations agreed on several measures, including strengthening accountability for alleged international crimes and enforcing the non-recognition of Israeli settlements. Other proposed actions include banning imports of settlement goods, preventing domestic companies from operating in them, and halting the transfer of arms and military materials to Israel.
