Five countries drop 90 aid airdrops over Gaza amid safety concerns

Aircraft from Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Germany, and France airdropped 90 packages of humanitarian aid over the northern and southern Gaza Strip. The head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, Philippe Lazzarini, criticized this method, warning it is costly, inefficient, and poses safety risks to civilians. Lazzarini argued that if political will exists for airdrops, it should also exist to open land crossings for aid delivery. He asserted that the only way to properly respond to the famine is to flood Gaza with assistance via trucks.
