Far-right Jewish-American group Betar to wind down operations after investigation

The far-right Jewish-American group Betar USA is ceasing operations in New York following a state investigation. The probe by Attorney General Letitia James found that the group incited violence and physically harmed pro-Palestinian Muslims, Arabs, and Jews. The organization encouraged members to bring weapons to protests and celebrated online when a member physically struck a woman wearing a keffiyeh. Under a settlement, Betar is permanently barred from instigating violence and will dissolve its non-profit corporation, facing a suspended $50,000 penalty for any violations.
