Exclusive: Powerful Libyan official in talks with Israel to resettle Palestinians from Gaza

A senior official in Libya's internationally recognised government has held secret talks with Israeli officials regarding a proposal to resettle Palestinians from Gaza. National Security Adviser Ibrahim Dbeibah is reportedly leading the discussions, which are being kept from the Tripoli-based parliament due to pro-Palestine sentiment in the country. As an incentive for Libya to accept hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, the United States has allegedly offered to release $30 billion in frozen Libyan state assets. The White House has previously advocated for creative solutions for Palestinians, including resettlement, while Gaza is rebuilt.
