Cambridge University’s endowment fund has invested over £140m in a fund that holds shares in companies linked to Israeli human rights violations. An analysis of US Securities and Exchange Commission filings revealed the investment in the iShares ESG Select Screened S&P 500 fund, which includes stakes in Palantir Technologies, Caterpillar, and GE Aerospace. The university had previously refused to disclose its portfolio companies, citing confidentiality. This disclosure follows accusations from Cambridge academics that the university was practicing "maximal obfuscation" regarding its investments and links to arms manufacturers.
