Several European nations, including France, Portugal, and Belgium, recognized Palestinian statehood during the UN General Assembly conference. In response, the municipality of Saint-Denis in Paris raised the Palestinian flag, and Palestinians held a flag-raising ceremony at their new embassy in the United Kingdom.
