According to Palestinian health officials, Israeli attacks in Gaza have killed over 62,622 Palestinians and wounded more than 157,673 since October 2023. In the last 24 hours, 61 people were killed, including 16 who were trying to obtain aid from a distribution system. Amid the ongoing crisis, Turkish First Lady Emine Erdogan has called on US First Lady Melania Trump to appeal to Israel's Prime Minister about the humanitarian situation. The number of journalists killed by Israeli forces has also risen to 240 with the death of reporter Khaled Mohammed al-Madhoun.
