At least 81 Palestinians were killed as Israel began its assault on Gaza City, an offensive Hamas said disregarded ceasefire efforts by Egypt and Qatar. Despite the fighting, an Israeli minister reportedly met with Qatari officials in Paris to discuss a ceasefire deal. In related developments, a US-based rights group sued the Trump administration over a Freedom of Information Act request for records of a Gaza humanitarian foundation. The administration was also condemned by an advocacy group for sanctioning ICC judges.
