Egypt passed intelligence to Saudi Arabia regarding the United Arab Emirates' recent operations and objectives in Yemen. This action was intended to help rebuild strained relations with Riyadh, as Cairo views the UAE's backing of separatist groups in Yemen and Sudan as a threat to its national security. The intelligence provided included recordings of Emirati officials discussing their coordination with the Southern Transitional Council (STC) and surveillance data on Emirati ship movements. This occurred amid rising tensions between Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which saw Saudi-backed forces retake control of southern Yemen from the UAE-allied STC.
