Dutch state broadcaster latest to withdraw from Eurovision if Israel participates

The Dutch state broadcaster, Avrotros, announced it will not take part in the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest if Israel also participates. Citing the "ongoing and severe human suffering in Gaza," the broadcaster stated its participation would not be possible as long as Israel is included. Avrotros also raised concerns about Israel's alleged interference during the 2025 contest, claiming the event was used as a "political instrument." This move makes it the latest of several national broadcasters consulting with the European Broadcasting Union about potentially excluding Israel.
