Cornell student union pledges solidarity with Palestine and commits to BDS movement

Members of a graduate student union at Cornell University have voted to pass a referendum in support of the Palestinian liberation struggle. The decision commits the Cornell Graduate Students United to joining the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) movement. The union accuses the university of being implicated in the conflict through its research, financial ties to the weapons industry, and a partnership with the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. Following the vote, the union will support members who refuse funding tied to Israel.
