Columbia University, Cuny most 'hostile' campuses for Muslims: Cair

A report by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) found that none of the 51 US university campuses it investigated were rated as "unhostile" to Muslim students and supporters of the Palestinian cause. Columbia University and the City University of New York (CUNY) were identified as the most hostile campuses. The report attributes this hostility to universities calling police on student protesters, the adoption of the IHRA definition of antisemitism, and a lack of specific anti-Muslim bias in discrimination policies. These findings follow widespread campus protests against the war in Gaza that occurred in the spring of 2024.
