Canada announces Gaza aid drop

The Canadian Armed Forces conducted an airdrop of more than 21,000 lbs of aid into Gaza. Foreign Minister Anita Anand stated this exceptional measure was necessary due to severely restricted humanitarian access, which she attributed to the Israeli government and called a violation of international law. Canada also announced $21.77 million in new funding for humanitarian needs in Gaza and the West Bank. An additional $7.26 million was provided to the World Bank to support the Palestinian Authority's role in the West Bank.
