Academics at Cambridge University have accused the institution of a lack of transparency regarding its investments in arms manufacturers. The criticism comes as the university's leadership prepares to review a report on its defense-related investments from its £4.2bn endowment fund. This review was prompted by months-long pro-Palestine student protests in 2024 that called for the university to sever financial ties with Israel and companies involved in the conflict. While the university's investment arm admitted that about 1.7 percent of its investments are in the aerospace and defense sector, it has not disclosed the specific companies involved.
