Cair to sue Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for labelling group 'terrorist'

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis signed an executive order designating the Council on American-Islamic Relations (Cair) and the Muslim Brotherhood as terrorist organisations. This action, which follows a similar proclamation in Texas, could enable state prosecutions against individuals believed to support the groups. Cair, a US-based civil liberties non-profit, announced it will sue DeSantis, calling the order unconstitutional and defamatory. DeSantis welcomed the lawsuit, stating it would grant the state discovery rights and citing Cair's previous status as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing case.
