Cair calls on Nobel Prize winner to renounce support for far-right, racist and fascist parties

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has called on Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Corina Machado to renounce her support for Zionism and fascism. The American civil rights group highlighted Machado's formal alliance with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s Likud Party and her pledge to move the Venezuelan embassy to Jerusalem if she gains power. CAIR also pointed to her participation in a far-right European conference and her statement that "the struggle of Venezuela is the struggle of Israel." The organization stated that if she fails to renounce these positions, the Nobel committee should reconsider the award.
