Belgium arrests Egyptian activist who locked embassy in The Hague

Belgian authorities detained Egyptian activist Anas Habib and his brother in Brussels during a visit by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi. The arrests were reportedly made over allegations that Habib was surveilling and threatening the president during an EU-Egypt Summit. Habib had previously gained attention for chaining the gates of Egypt's embassy in The Hague to protest Cairo's closure of its border with Gaza. He has publicly accused the Egyptian government of being complicit in the genocide in the besieged territory.
