Amnesty International says Israel's E1 Settlement 'flagrant violation' of international law

Amnesty International has condemned Israel's plan to build a new settlement, known as E1, in the occupied West Bank. The organization stated the plan for approximately 3,400 housing units is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. This development is viewed as a dangerous step towards the formal annexation of Palestinian territory. The settlement would also isolate occupied East Jerusalem from the rest of the West Bank and effectively divide it in two, further entrenching the occupation.
