This efficiency tempts leaders to substitute AI's analytical thoroughness for the essential human judgment required to prioritize competing objectives and accept risk. The core danger lies in creating "optimized" plans that appear balanced and defensible but actually obscure the hard, unresolved choices about what to resource and what to sacrifice. Rather than seeking a single perfect answer, planners should use AI to rapidly generate multiple options, forcing commanders to confront trade-offs and make the difficult, accountable decisions that algorithms cannot.
