Acting UN aid chief says there is 'starvation' in Gaza

The acting UN aid chief, Ramesh Rajasingham, has told the UN Security Council that Gaza is experiencing "starvation, pure and simple." He stated that the humanitarian system in the region has effectively collapsed, with medical facilities lacking sufficient supplies, water, and sanitation infrastructure. Doctors have reportedly been killed or detained, further crippling the response. Rajasingham affirmed that the UN has a plan and systems in place to respond and urged that humanitarian workers be allowed to do their jobs.
