A Bletchley Park for the Quantum Age

A modern Bletchley Park-style effort is necessary to manage the transition to post-quantum cryptography and counter future threats. The development of quantum computers will soon render current encryption obsolete, enabling adversaries to decrypt previously harvested data. The proposed solution involves a two-track approach for the United States and its allies, focusing on both domestic implementation and an international certification compact. This strategy includes setting firm adoption milestones for government agencies, procuring validated technology, and using export controls on critical quantum components as strategic leverage.
